Just off the side of Highway 2, five miles west of Libby, are the Kootenai Falls and the swinging bridge. Trail of the Cedars & Lake McDonald shoreline walk - Glacier National Park
On a recent visit to Glacier National Park I asked the park ranger at the Apgar visitor center for easy hikes for my boyfriend and I to do as we are not avid hikers. She suggested the Trail of the Cedars near Avalanche Creek and a unnamed path near Fish Creek that goes along the Lake McDonald shoreline.

Travelers’ Rest - Lewis and Clark Campsite
Just eight miles south of Missoula on U.S. Highway 93 lies the town of Lolo, and one-half mile west of Lolo, on Highway 12, sits the newest Montana State Park, Travelers’ Rest. Of the 8,000 miles and many campsites on the Expedition’s two-year journey, this is the ONLY place that the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery left archeologically-verified evidence of their visits.
Elk Country Visitor Center Missoula
The primary focus of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is Elk, of course, and the Visitor Center features an amazing display of mounted elk, many with antlers that are world records. The Elk Foundation considers loss of habitat to be the most serious threat to the future of wild places and wildlife. The Foundation now counts 150,000 members, with 550 chapters in the USA and 10,000 volunteer workers who assist with conservation, education, and preservation projects around the country.
Kiwanis Park– Picnics and Recreation, Missoula
Ideally located right between the University of Montana and the quaint blocks of Downtown Missoula, Kiwanis Park is easily reached by car (signs will lead you to parking just south of E. Front Street) or by foot/bike. The trail that borders the park is paved and wheelchair/stroller accessible and sits along the edge of the Clark Fork River offering a spectacular view
